Notes for Arianna

Where to even start, Arianna! Your bright smile and encouraging attitude will be so missed in CtB. May the Lord bless each step ahead as you walk with Him.

Arianna, I am so proud of the woman you have grown into over the past 3 years of knowing you. You have allowed the Lord to shape you into the glowing person you are today, and it has been a privilege to have a front row seat to it. All the best in your future undertakings! Can wait to see where you end up!

You superb human–congratulations! I am privileged to call you friend! You are a boss who loves the Lord, loves others, and excels at all that you do. You embody pursuing Jesus wholeheartedly and I am more than confident that you will do amazing things for God’s kingdom and His glory. So excited to see you blossom in this new season of life <3 Proud of you and love you dearly!

Arianna, it was wonderful to have you in so many of my literature classes over the years. I trust you’ll bring your love of reading great books and your creative spirit wherever you go next!

You have the biggest heart ever. So thankful to call you a sister. I see Jesus shine through you in every way and I cherish every minute I get with you. Proud of you my sweet friend <3

Arianna, what a joy and privilege it was to share so many classes with you. From gushing about the beauty of monasticism to grappling with the difficulties of understanding Aristotle, your enthusiasm for your studies has always inspired me to never take time in the classroom for granted. Thank you for always sharing such a radiant joy about life and the Lord, and I cannot wait to see all your good work in this next chapter of life. Cheers, friend, and congrats!

Congratulations! I love you so much. Thank you for being so warm and full of joy. You are an inspiration.

Arianna! You just might be the absolute sweetest person that I’ve ever met. You don’t hesitate to love others and make people feel included. I could only hope to have a heart as big as yours. Thanks for making Way of The Tea a thing and sorry we couldn’t make it a legacy 😂

Arianna, it was always fun to run into you in the halls and catch up. Thanks for hanging out with Ezra on those days I hauled him up to work, too. 🙂

Congratulations on finishing! I look forward to seeing the good things God has planned for you after King’s!

Arianna, it was a privilege to be your classmate! It was always so clear how thoughtful you were about class materials and it inspired me to be a better student. You’ve been an example of humble service and strong character to so many around, in big and small ways 🙂 Congratulations!!!

Dear Arianna, to think I didn’t really know who you were before Abby Barttlet said to me in spring 2019, “Arianna Haynes is interested in SFL exec, too” makes me exceedingly grateful that SFL brought us together. And now that friendship keeps us.

Kathryn said early on this year to me that there were certain days for dinner that it would work well for me to bring home a student. “But someone like Arianna,” she said, “Arianna can come at *any* time.”

You just have this way of loving others so darn well.

I’m really, really glad to know you. 🙂
Elaina

Arianna, it was a privilege to have you in my Shakespeare class last year. Congratulations on your many accomplishments at King’s, and may your intelligence and kindness take you far!

Arianna, dear friend, our frolics in the park, picnics on a whim, stargazing, diner Saturdays, movie nights, coffee chats, and moving…adventures have made college so so so enjoyable. I cannot express how truly thankful I am to be your friend and witness the great things you have been doing postgrad! I admire your dedication to helping others through your career choice and how you live your life daily. You are such a solid person, and it is obvious that God is your foundation. You radiate hopefulness even in difficult times, and I have enjoyed appreciating the little things in life with you.

Arianna, you have the most beautiful soul and a most thoughtful mind. Thank you for giving me precis tips in the library and for taking us the cloister trips. I look up to you so much, and when I graduate from king’s I want to be able to say that I am almost as cool and as kind as you. <3

Arianna!!!

Congratulations on graduating!! We’ve come a long way since Dr. Corbin’s class freshman year. I love your enthusiasm for academics and your genuine love for all people. Thank you for being you. I will miss seeing your face every day! Let’s stay in touch! I am so proud of you!!!! Congratulations, again!!!!!!! <3

Arianna,

You’re a “full fledged B.A” now—congrats!

When you got placed in 3306, I had no idea what a wonderful friend had just walked into my life. But God knew, and I am incredibly grateful he made our paths cross.

It’s been a privilege to watch you work so hard—and so uncomplainingly—to achieve your degree. Your patience and dedication have been an inspiration.

But your friendship has been the biggest blessing. You are quick to laugh, to listen, and to hop out on an adventure (even if that’s just a late night run to whatever bodega or Duane Reade we’re currently living close to). You’re a steady source of wisdom and joy—and of comfort when your friends are hurting most. Above all, you never fail to point us all back to truth. Being friends with you has drawn me closer to the Lord. Thank you!

From roommates, to friends, to quarantine buddies, to moving pals, I’m very glad to know you!

Congrats, g!

You are the embodiment of love and light. I am so glad we got to experience a glimpse of Israel together and live with one another. I loved sitting in the library with you while I groaned and complained and procrastinated — and you just sat there, laughing and encouraging me to get my work done. Do you still have the pictures I drew on the scrap piece of paper? Those are art and will absolutely be worth a lot of money in a few year’s time. If not, I can for sure draw more; my talent never runs dry. All of this to say — I love you, I adore you, and I miss you. I am so incredibly grateful that you exist — the world is that much brighter and beautiful because of it.

Arianna, I always did a little happy dance in my head (or maybe sometimes in my body) when I found out I got to have a class with you. You are so keen and curious, I am amazed at your perseverance in studies (thesis, what?!), and you bring light and love wherever you go. The best compliment I can give is that if there was a room I knew you were gonna be in, that that’s a room where I knew I wanted to be. Wishing you the best of luck, friend. <3

Arianna,

Please accept my belated congratulations on earning your Humanities degree this spring and graduating summa cum laude from King’s. Most impressive! It was a pleasure to make your acquaintance in 2019, and I was delighted that you enrolled in Con Law in fall 2020. Thank you for so many excellent questions and comments in the course, in both the real classroom and the Zoom room. I hope that we’ll stay in touch. Blessings to you in your life after TKC!

As ever,
DLT
