Notes for Grace

Gracie, it’s incredible that you took a class with me every semester you were at King’s … until this spring when I wasn’t teaching and you worked as my assistant. I will greatly miss seeing you in the front row of my literature classes! Thanks for your boundless excitement for the English major over the years, which shone through in every discussion about Shakespeare and Russian novels and Broadway musicals and everything else, and in every newsletter you sent out. You are irreplaceable, but I know you have inspired lots of younger lit/theater/arts/creative students coming up. Congratulations!

Gracie!! You did it! Thank you for making me feel so welcomed in the House of QE1 my first year here. Thank you for introducing me to Paddington and She Loves Me. I have enjoyed going on adventures with you, whether it be to The Met or North Carolina. What a joy it has been to know you! I hope you have a wonderful summer with friends and books and writing. You are so loved, Gracie!

Congrats Gracie!!! You are so talented and I can’t wait to see all that you will accomplish in the coming years! Thanks for being such an amazing big!💜

Congratulations Gracie!!!! What a privilege it has been to get to know you these past 4 years and to have so many classes with you. You are so thoughtful and your love for good literature always leaves me with a fresh way of looking at the world. I’m so stoked to see where life takes you post-grad!!

Gracie!! Congrats, QUEEN!! I was consistently inspired by your dedication and love for our house. You are leaving behind such a wonderful legacy at King’s. I wish you all the best in the next season of life, I’m sure you will do incredible things. Cheers, Brittany

Gracie! Oh my goodness. This is the one where I’ll cry. Listen, friend, I’ll just say that I love you. Your love for Shakespeare + theater + Paddington has really kept King’s afloat and I don’t know what the community will do without you. Congratulations, Queen!

Congratulations Gracie!!! I have loved seeing how much you’ve grown these past few years and your passion for theater and english is infectious! You were an amazing artistic director and a grand friend! I cannot wait to see all the shows you work on! Congrats again! <3

Oh Gracie! I don’t even know where to start! I’m going to miss our good old museum chats and Justinian jokes so much. I have such a distinct memory of some time early on in our friendship we were both in Late Antiquity and were somehow both at the Met, so you said “where are you, I’m coming to hang out with you,” so we went through the entire hallway with Late Antique stuff trying to decipher the scenes on the ivories. You’ve always been so present on glum days and energetic days all the same, and even do me the courtesy of swiping up on my random art hot takes on instagram for a good discussion. Not to mention how grounding you are; like reminding me that once college is over that doesn’t mean learning has to stop, especially because I know neither of us ever will stop. We’ve had SO much fun and I’m so excited to see what you’re up to in the next few years.

Gracie,
I’m so, so glad you came to King’s and our TPS paths could cross for “real.” You had an impact on this community! And thanks for not getting mad at me when I took you on a hike that made you sprain your ankle. It was a blessing to me to share senior year and being an English major with you.

Gracie! you are an icon and a queen. Your hugs and encouragement always brighten my days and I will miss you next year, but am also so excited to see all the great things you will do next! congrats friend 🙂

My fellow Shakespeare Enthusiast! You have always been someone to hang with during my time at school and I appreciate the constant approval of convos about the Bard! Thanks for the Reagan Sadies invitations, Macbeth in the park was ehhhh (hehe), and thanks for letting us use ur apartment to film! Keep up the good work in your very creative fields! You are quite the clever individual, and will always be my QE1 buddy!

Gracie! You were one of the very first students I met at King’s, and I can’t imagine what it will be like without you. From organizing Shakespeare movie nights, to setting up a whole new tutoring system, to dealing with remote classes, thanks for rolling with the punches as each semester brought a new set of challenges. You’re an all-star with a bright future! Keep in touch!

Congratulations on graduating Gracie!! You have been such a bright light at King’s your whole time here, and I can’t wait to see where your love and joy take you in the future!!

Congratulations, Gracie! I’m sad that I didn’t get the chance to know you well during your time here. As an audience member of Crashing Into Silence I can say that I appreciated seeing your creativity and spirit on display. Thank you for all the ways you have invested in this community!

Gracie, Thank you for being a great friend since freshman year. We have so many beautiful memories together at King’s that I will treasure forever! Congratulations on all of your hard work! I pray that all you have learned and gained these last four years continues to stick with you as you move on to do all the other amazing things you’re going to pursue in your life! Congratulations on graduating, Gracie! I am incredibly proud of you, and I love you for who you are! Let’s celebrate more together this summer!!! Much Love!

Gracie, your friendship has been one of the great highlights of my time at King’s – who else will talk to me as passionately about Tony nominations and Paddington 2 and new exhibits in museums or at the Paley Center? Our adventures are such a joy and I can’t wait for our next one. Best wishes and warmest regards, dear friend.
