Notes for Marisa

Congrats, Marisa! I have missed seeing you around here this year, but I am grateful that I got to know you during your time at King’s. You should be proud of all that you accomplished – I am excited to see where you go from here!

Marisa, CONGRATS! You are so smart and hard-working–it has been a joy to see your growth these past four years <3 I fondly remember our good times in the House of Barton and I wish you all the best in this new season of post-grad life!

Marisa! Can’t forget my Chamberlain 😉 Thank you for welcoming me to King’s and Barton and for all the fun memories. I’m going to miss our group game nights and shenanigans but can’t wait to see what you do next! <3

Marisa :’),

Not to steal your words or anything, but you wholeheartedly shaped my King’s experience. I’m so grateful to God that you ended up being our roommate last minute and then my best friend for the next four years. We have seen each other grow SO MUCH, and I can’t ever really convey just how much you’ve helped in my transformation. You have shown me how to hope, how to trust in God’s love, how to live in community, and how to embrace the good. Thank you for bearing with my incessant ranting, my general confusion about people, hours of Classic Rock on repeat, and, of course, all things Lord of the Rings and history. It has been a joy to watch your journey, and though we haven’t always agreed on everything and there have certainly been difficult challenges in our friendship, I know that what God has given us is so so so special, and I thank Him often for it. You are incredible, and I’ve never met anyone else with quite the determination and faith you have, and it serves as a constant inspiration to me. I am so genuinely happy for all of the good (known and unknown) coming your way, and you can bet I’ll be there to celebrate with you and bring the playlists as well. Cheers to cooking Thanksgiving dinner in a Greenwich apartment, to living over 2,000 miles away from home, and for successfully scraping by for four years. There isn’t anyone else I would have wanted to do life with at King’s. Congrats, my friend. I love you long time. -Daiya

Marisa,

Congratulations on graduating! All your hard work has finally paid off! I am super proud of you and all of your accomplishments during your four years at King’s. Graduating with Summa Cum Laude next to your name is such an amazing thing and you deserve it. I know it was tough not being there in person this last year and waking up at six in the morning on class days, but you got through it! I love you so much and I’m so proud of you!

Brilliant. Enduring. Genuine.
These are the words that come to heart when I think of you, Marisa. You are the greatest friend anyone could ask for. Your kind and challenging advice have singlehandedly made me a better man today and I’ll forever be grateful for it.
Congratulations!
You’re gonna do so much good and I can’t wait to see it!

Congrats Marisa! I hope this next season is filled with so much peace and joy and I wish you all the best 🙂

Marisa – Congratulations on finishing your journey at King’s! Thank you for hanging out with Ezra on those crazy days when I would schlep him and his stroller up to campus. 🙂 May God bless everything ahead for you!!

My dear Marisa, thank you so much for your friendship these past few years. I am so proud of your courage and generosity of spirit. I miss our coffee conversations and I look forward to continuing to get to know the woman you are becoming — glad you’ll be back on the East Coast soon! Congratulations on everything, friend!!!!

Marisa, what a crazy time we’ve had together. I wouldn’t want anyone else by my side as we navigated how to teach five wild, lovable kiddos. And I am so grateful for that experience because it allowed me to get to know you more, and I learned so much about your heart for kids and for The Lord. Congratulations, lady! I’m eager to see what’s next for you 🙂

Marisa my love, who knew that bonding over Disney in the class of 21 group chat would lead to such a beautiful friendship? I’m so glad to have been able to watch you grow over these last four years and can’t wait for our next adventures together. You bring such joy and enthusiasm into my life and I love you so very much!!
