Seth Pate

Seth, it’s been an honor working with you this past year and watching you wrestle with huge questions in literary history and education. Your passion for truth will serve you well as an instructor. I look forward to hearing how things go next year and beyond!

Notes for Seth

Congrats, Seth! I’m proud of all you accomplished – we’ve missed you around here this year but I know good things lie ahead. Congrats again!

Seth, I’m so happy to hear that you’re taking your love of poetry and great literature into a teaching career! Thanks for being a part of this brand new English program over the past four years, and I hope you’ll keep in touch. Congrats!

Sethers! Wow, can you believe we finally did it? I can’t. Thank you for being the prime example of a Godly man Seth. Your friendship, and mentorship, have been a true blessing. #neverforgetMaine #dockbuddies Miss you!

You are a brilliant, kind, witty person + I have genuinely enjoyed every conversation I’ve had with you. I never quite got to convey proper celebration, so congratulations to you and Lillie both on your graduations + your wedding!! I wish you both good fortune, and I leave you with Boethius regardless: “All fortune is good fortune; for it either rewards, disciplines, amends, or punishes, and so is either useful or just.”

Congrats bro! So great to see how much you’ve changed and grown since the year we came in. God bless you brother

SETH PATE!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! You are so cool and I am so glad we’ve become friends! From A Christmas Carol to pandemic traveling through England to having a grand ole road-trip very last minute, you are one of the kindest, smartest, and well read person I know and it’s always a party! Even though you moved VERY far away (me and Tia are not pleased but we get it) I know you’re gonna do some amazing things! One day you’ll have to come see me in England with Lillie and we’ll have some more adventures! Congrats again my dude!!!

“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.” – CS Lewis. (These are really the best words to live by)

The English major was better because you were in it. Thank you for bringing a thoughtful and insightful perspective to class. I learned from you the importance of patience in approaching literature and intellectual thought. I could always tell you valued an honest statement about a work or idea rather than a hasty statement that you hadn’t yet thought enough about. You have such deep curiosity, and it was refining to be around.

Every class at King’s was the better for having you in it, and I know that those Great Hearts kids in AZ are already benefiting from your intelligence and wisdom! I can’t wait to see the brilliant things you do in the future, Congratulations Seth!!

Seth! I am so thankful you joined my Econ study group that first semester. You’re so good and you deserve every bit of your accomplishments. I definitely miss my nyc brother but I know you and Lillie are doing great things. I’m so so so proud of you. Congratulations!

Congrats Seth!

I may have blocked you on everything because you refused to walk through Times Square with a red solo cup, filled with non-alcoholic apple cider…but congratulations are in order! You did it! Wishing you all the best for your future.
